Please help. When i watch ALL youtube videos on my phone the picture quality is very poor, even when i watch HD videos. When i re-size the screen the video is perfect - but too small to watch. If i expand the video the picture becomes very pixalated and very poor! Is there some settings i have to alter so that when i watch videos on full screen the video is not pixalated ? Thanks.

Have you tried using WiFi? I get 720P that way, but over 3G, it's poor quality as well. I think the providers compress the data stream.

it is not the provider's issue. It's youtube. once youtube detect you are connected to 3G, they will give a lower resolution to cut down on data usage.

I did a 3G connection with dailymotion and the video is super clear with and it's the same quality as over wifi.

this is the result of my findings with screenshots.

I have the exact same problem, even when Im using wifi! Before I was able to change from normal to HD/HQ, now I don't get that option.

Please see the picture below what I mean.

Is there something I need to do or change??

this is youtube mobile page, not the normal youtube desktop (scroll all e way down to see the options). for youtube mobile, there is no option to choose the picture quality. to my understanding, it will auto play in HD if you are using wifi and it will play the lowest quality if you are using 3G.

If you play this HD video using wifi, it will auto switch to HD mode. there is no need for you to choose. to see the difference, try connecting to see the same video using 3G. you will see a huge difference in quality. that is the REAL normal mode.

Thnx for da reply 'angmortan'.

The youtube mobile page does actually have da option to change from normal to HD/HQ. Go on the internet on your COMPUTER, not the mobile, and instead off 'www.youtube.com' type 'm.youtube.com' for the mobile version on your computer.

Then type HD in da search box and chose whichever video (DON'T CLICK ON THE ACTUAL VIDEO, CLICK ON THE WRITING), it wil give the option to choose from normal to HD/HQ.

I was able to do this changing before on my mobile and then suddenly I cudn't anymore, jus lets me play the movie without chosing normal or HD/HQ.

Please help!!! Thanks!!!!!!
